1st UPDATE Sept 20 based on the City of Red Deer's adoption of the Provincial Restrictions Exemption Program

Hello museum goers. As the MAG is in a City-owned facility, we will be adhering to City of Red Deer policy and taking part in the provincial Restrictions Exemption Program. The galleries are open for visitors Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00am-4:30pm.

"Youth aged 12-17 must show proof of vaccination, medical exemption or a negative test result to enter any facility while not participating in activity. This includes spectators, or using the concourse and common areas." - City of Red Deer.

How this impacts youth visitors at the MAG:

For REGISTERED PROGRAMS (Day Camps, Home School, Zines for Teens, MAGsampler, Art Speaks, Beading Basics, School Programs) participants age 12-17 can take part in their activities without proof of vaccination, exemption or negative COVID-19 test.

Notice (updated October 7, 2021): Art Speaks, MAGsparks, Beading Basics programs are mixed youth/adult programs and require proof of vacination, exemption or negative COVID-19 test for ages 12+.

In order to visit MAG's galleries and/or participate in DROP-IN programs or mixed youth/adult programs (MAGsaturdays, MAGsparks, miniMAG, gallery talks and tours, First Fridays) where participants can move freely around the public spaces attendees aged 12 years and older will need to show proof of one of the following:

  1. Full vaccination for COVID-19 or, proof of single-dose (up until October 18) will be accepted as long as the dose was given more than two weeks prior to visiting the museum.
  2. Proof of a negative result from a rapid COVID test. The test must have been completed within 72 hours prior to visiting the museum. Tests must be from a private test provider and not from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
  3. An original (non-copied) proof of medical exemption letter.

All staff and visitors (Age 5+) to the building must wear masks and practice social distancing at all times.

We appreciate your support to maintain the health and safety of museum visitors and to follow the direction set out by The City of Red Deer.

Please note the following for visiting the MAG September 20-27th:

“Acknowledging that not all Red Deerians may be able to immediately access their proof of vaccination, The City will allow access to facilities from Monday, September 20 to Monday, September 27 with verbal confirmation of vaccination.” - City of Red Deer
