Artist-in-Residence July 2021

Artist-in-residence programs give artists the opportunity to work outside of their usual environments, providing them with space to produce work, and an opportunity for the community to learn an artist’s process.

Heritage Square Artist-in-Residences
with Matt Gould (July 13-17) & Linda Shantz (July 20-24)

Offered as part of A Prairie Vernacular: Folk & Contemporary Art Narratives of Life On the Canadian Prairies exhibition programming, we are excited to have artists Matt Gould and Linda Shantz onsite in Heritage Square this July, working on their art practice!

Artists will be onsite from 1-4 pm each day of their residencies. We invite you to watch local artist Matt Gould as he creates puppets from a variety of artistic processes, and local wood carver, Linda Shantz, as she whittles wood folk like houses, faces or animals. Free to visit, all are welcome. Make sure to stop in at the MAG while you're in the area!
