Keeping the Creativity at Home with MAGnificent Saturdays - November 28, 2020

Today's MAGnificent Saturdays art activity for you to do at home:

Patterns and Polyhedrons

In light of today’s in-studio MAGnificent Saturdays cancellation here is a #MAGsatathome post outlining today’s activity – Patterns & Polyhedrons. Today we are going to combine 2D patterns drawings with 3-D paper craft to make some super interesting sculptures!

PATTERN: A regular repetition of lines, shapes, colours, or textures.
SHAPE: A two dimensional figure in art.
FORM: A three dimensional figure used in art.

Don't forget to tag us on Facebook, Twitter @RedDeerMuseum or Instagram @rdmag #MAGsatathome with your creations! We'd love to see them.

You can download the instructions here.

What You Need: Polyhedron templates on cardstock, scissors, markers, glue. Download and print sample template from Crafttuts+

Step 1: Cut the polyhedron shapes out of cardstock—make sure to keep the tabs!

Step 2: Using markers, draw patterns on the outside of your shape!

Step 3: Fold your polyhedron shape along all of the outside lines before gluing.

Step 4: Put glue on the rounded tabs, and assemble! Repeat steps with more shapes if you want to make multiple.
