MAG Summer Camps: July 27-31 Virtual Exhibit

Our fourth week of A Week @ the Museum: Summer Camps was a busy one with 14 campers joining us for the week. With all the summer heat, kids played at the splash park most days and did lots of outdoor games and activities, including chalk art outside the museum.

The 9-12 group worked through a Morse code scavenger hunt from Rotary Park to various locations; and both groups did Box projects – robots, box costumes or toys – they are always a hit! Participants worked diligently on their box projects all week. Our Guest Artist, Saija, had both groups do self-portraits this week in the style of Faith Ringgold. They are quite expressive, and the older kids were quite accurate with their facial proportions. Kids explored the Dave More exhibit and did an ‘Eye Spy’ activity. The younger group wrapped up the week with making their own ‘Sock Kittens’, and finished the last day of camp working as a group to build large castles out of big cardboard boxes.
