Keeping the Creativity at Home with MAGnificent Saturdays - August 1, 2020

Today's MAGnificent Saturdays art activity for you to do at home:

Abstract Landscape

Is it a landscape? Is it a topographical map? Is it abstract art?  Who knows but it is fun!

Don't forget to tag us on Facebook, Twitter @RedDeerMuseum or Instagram @rdmag #MAGsatathome with your creations! We'd love to see them.

You can download the instructions here.

What You Need: Construction Paper, Glue and Scissors

Step 1. Start by drawing a funny blob shape and cutting out about 4 pieces of paper in this shape at once.

Step 2.  Hold the first blob up to 4 more pieces of paper and cut around the edges a little bigger than the first one.

Step 3. Repeat this process always using the previous size as a guide for the next larger size.

Step 4. Repeat and repeat until you have as many layers as you want or as large as the paper goes. *Don’t forget you can separate the pieces at the top of the pile.

Step 5. Start with the bottom piece and glue each layer to the next with very slight overlapping so you can see each colour.
