As the MAG is in a City-owned facility, we will be adhering to City of Red Deer policy and taking part in the provincial Restrictions Exemption Program. All staff and visitors to the building must wear masks and practice social distancing at all times. Check out our recent blog post for recent announcements about visitation and program restrictions. MAG Summer Camps: July 13-17 Virtual Exhibit

At last week's camp, attendees were treated to a tour of our collections (and absolutely loved it!). The 6-8 group were inspired by Historical landmarks in Red Deer and they did block printing with foam blocks to create their own unique buildings. They also did doodle landscapes. Our guest artist for the week, Saija, taught both groups how to do intaglio printmaking – carving into soft foam to create your image and then inking the image multiple times. The 9-12 group worked on Beaded Mobiles influenced by Alexander Calder. To get started on their beaded mobiles, participants started out with an outdoor scavenger hunt to collect sticks to create the mobile from.
