Keeping the Creativity at Home with MAGnificent Saturdays - July 11, 2020
Today's MAGnificent Saturdays art activity for you to do at home:
Have you ever tried creating a flower garden from organic water blobs? Maybe the idea never crossed your mind but you can have a lot of fun trying it out. If flowers aren’t your thing try a monster!
Don't forget to tag us on Facebook, Twitter @RedDeerMuseum or Instagram @rdmag #MAGsatathome with your creations! We'd love to see them.
You can download the instructions here.
What You Need: Watercolour Paper, Watercolour Paint, Crayons and Black Sharpies
Step 1. Start by making organic shapes on your paper with just water.
Step 2. Add watercolour paint to your water shapes. This is a ‘Wet on Wet’ watercolour technique.
Step 3. Let your paint dry or blast it with the hairdryer. Look at your shapes, how can you change them into a garden (or monster)?
Step 4. Work back into your shapes with a sharpie and more watercolour to create your garden (or monster).
