Untitled Lilacs, Victoria Unwin

Victoria Unwin was a Lacombe school teacher, who along with her sister, lived in an historic home on Lacombe’s main street for many years. It is believed she was a self taught artist and was captivated by the watercolour process. A prolific artist, she loved to paint in the still life genre. Flowers and scenes from her garden were her primary subject matter. This picture of a bouquet of lilacs illustrates her style and love of the beauty she found in her yard.
