Jump to: Kids Camps | Teens Camps | Available Dates (by age group)

In Person Camps for Kids
ages 6-8 & 9-12

These week-long summer camps offer your child a fun way to meet new friends and experience hands-on activities in a museum / gallery setting while maintaining safe social distancing. Students will create numerous artworks, learn to explore artifacts, experience our Log School House, and more – all within our COVID-19 protocols.

Each week, we will have a guest artist for the day to expand campers' artmaking skills and creativity. Artworks created at the camp will be virtually exhibited following each camp for families to enjoy.

Registration Information

  • Camps run in-person from 9 am - 4 pm for children ages 6-8 & 9-12
  • The cost is $175/week for MAG family/grandparent members; $200/week non-members. Full-week registration only.
  • There is no early drop-off/late pick-up service available. Camp drop-off is from 8:30-9 am, pick-up is 4-4:30 pm.

Please review the 2021 Camp Information Sheet prior to your child's attendance in our camps:

Virtual ½-day Camps for Teens
ages 13-17

This summer we are offering two weeks of virtual afternoon camps developed especially for teens!

These virtual camps will offer icebreaker games, the exploration of museum artifacts, history fun facts, and gallery tours. Log into the museum virtually and create art projects with our artistic leaders along with a special guest artist each week.

Registration Information

  • Camps run virtually from 1-4 pm for youth ages 13-17
  • The cost is $15/day for MAG members; $20/day non-members. Full week or single day registration is available.
  • Art kits will be available (1 week prior to the camp start date) for an additional cost and will contain all the supplies you need for 5 days of creative expression!

We have a special offering this summer: virtual artist talks with professional artists in their studio!

We have three virtual artist talks planned this summer: join Jude Griebel, international artist; Ken Housego, Canadian artist; and local artist, Matt Gould to learn about their artistic practice right from their studios. These talks are accessible to all summer camp students registered on any date.

These virtual camps are a ‘safe and convenient way’ to offer our programs to Red Deer and Central Alberta's teen community!
