As the MAG is in a City-owned facility, we are adhering to City of Red Deer policy and taking part in the provincial Restrictions Exemption Program. Summercamps - A week at the Red Deer Musesum

In Person Camps for Kids
ages 6-8 & 9-12

These week-long summer camps offer your child a fun way to meet new friends and experience hands-on activities in a museum / gallery setting while maintaining safe social distancing. Students will create numerous artworks, learn to explore artifacts, experience our Log School House, and more – all within our COVID-19 protocols.

Each week, we will have a guest artist for the day to expand campers' artmaking skills and creativity. Artworks created at the camp will be virtually exhibited following each camp for families to enjoy.

Registration Information

  • Camps run in-person from 9 am - 4 pm for children ages 6-8 & 9-12
  • The cost is $175/week for MAG family/grandparent members; $200/week non-members. Full-week registration only.
  • There is no early drop-off/late pick-up service available. Camp drop-off is from 8:30-9 am, pick-up is 4-4:30 pm.

In Person Camps for Teens
ages 13-17

This summer we are offering two weeks of afternoon camps developed especially for teens!

These afternoon camps will offer the exploration of museum artifacts, gallery tours, games, and more. Spend the afternoon exploring the MAG and Heritage Square while connecting with peers! Create art projects with our artistic leaders along with a special guest artist each week. 

Registration Information

  • Camps run in-person* from 1-4 pm for youth ages 13-17
  • The cost is $15/day for MAG members; $20/day non-members. Full week or single day registration is available.

*these camps were previously scheduled as a virtual program, and have since shifted to in-person!


We have a special offering this summer: virtual artist talks with professional artists in their studio!

Teen campers will have the opportunity to join Jude Griebel, international artist and Ken Housego, Canadian artist virtually to learn about their artistic practice right from their studios. These talks are accessible to all teen camp students registered on any date.
