As the MAG is in a City-owned facility, we will be adhering to City of Red Deer policy and taking part in the provincial Restrictions Exemption Program. All staff and visitors to the building must wear masks and practice social distancing at all times. Check out our recent blog post for recent announcements about visitation and program restrictions. These week-long summer camps offer your child a fun way to meet new friends and experience hands-on activities in a museum / gallery setting while maintaining safe social distancing. Students will create numerous artworks, learn to explore artifacts, experience our Log School House, and more – all within our COVID-19 protocols.
Each week, we will have a guest artist for the day to expand campers' artmaking skills and creativity. Artworks created at the camp will be virtually exhibited following each camp for families to enjoy.
This summer we are offering two weeks of afternoon camps developed especially for teens!
These afternoon camps will offer the exploration of museum artifacts, gallery tours, games, and more. Spend the afternoon exploring the MAG and Heritage Square while connecting with peers! Create art projects with our artistic leaders along with a special guest artist each week.
*these camps were previously scheduled as a virtual program, and have since shifted to in-person!
Teen campers will have the opportunity to join Jude Griebel, international artist and Ken Housego, Canadian artist virtually to learn about their artistic practice right from their studios. These talks are accessible to all teen camp students registered on any date.
There are currently no programs scheduled. Please contact the MAG at firstname.lastname@example.org or 403-309-8405 for further information.
