February 19, 2019 - Beautiful Belcourt

If you look up Pointillism art, you're going to find a lot of work by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac; today we're looking at work by a modern Canadian artist Christi Belcourt.  She is a Canadian Métis artist, known for her pointillist work that depicts floral patterns inspired by Métis and First Nations historical beadwork art. Today is an exciting opportunity to try your hand at pointillism and have a look at our exhibit Hiding in Plain Sight: Discovering the Métis Nation in the Archival Records of Library and Archives Canada!

note: this activity is listed as "Pointillist Bead Work: Inspired by Christi Belcourt" in our printed calendar of events.
