This Heritage Day we are celebrating the prairies and folk art! Join us for live music by local folk musician Mike Szabo, make some folk art and do outdoor old-fashioned sack race games, and more.

Come make some garden art! Paint a prairie garden or make a burlap banner with garden veggies in felt. Check out the Log Schoolhouse in Heritage Square, and enjoy some complimentary ice cream and refreshments.

About Mike Szabo

Mike Szabo

Four years ago Mike Szabo took his first stage, he was 58 years old.

In the few short years since, Mike has compiled a significant body of work including his first studio album, “Take My Heart”; has released three singles, three videos and has written almost 50 new songs.

Mike has begun to attract the attention of the folk music scene and is intent on establishing himself as a regular performer on the Canadian folk circuits. Production for a second album is in the preliminary stages. Born in Winnipeg Manitoba Mike has been an Albertan since before his first birthday and lives in Red Deer.
