About the exhibition:

World War Women explores the contributions made by women to Canada’s participation in the First and Second World Wars.

During these periods of extraordinary change and hardship, women served in the military, took on paid and volunteer war work and, in many cases, waited and worried about loved ones in uniform, some of whom they would never see again. This exhibition explores the challenges women faced during two World Wars, examines the choices they made, and highlights objects that tell their stories.

This exhibition has been developed by the Canadian War Museum, Ottawa.

In order to participate in DROP-IN programs (MAGsaturdays, MAGsparks, miniMAG, gallery talks and tours, First Fridays), as participants can move freely around the public spaces, attendees aged 12 years and older will need to show proof of one of the following:

  1. Full vaccination for COVID-19 or, proof of single-dose (up until October 18) will be accepted as long as the dose was given more than two weeks prior to visiting the museum.
  2. Proof of a negative result from a rapid COVID test. The test must have been completed within 72 hours prior to visiting the museum. Tests must be from a private test provider and not from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
  3. An original (non-copied) proof of medical exemption letter.

The following restrictions are also in place:

These restrictions have been put into place as a result of the City of Red Deer's September 17th, 2021 announcement and will be effective beginning September 20th, 2021.
