REGISTRATION ASSISTANT (Summer 2018)

Full-time; 16 week term (May 14 – August 31)
   This position is within the scope of the CUPE Collective Agreement

RESPONDS TO: Coordinator of Collections Management
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The position is responsible for the compilation and maintenance of clear and accurate records of the Museum’s collection.

Records new acquisitions into the Accessions Ledger.

Assists the Coordinator of Collections Management in inventory, documentation and packing the artefacts that will be moved into compact storage units.

Researches and develops an exhibit based on the MAG’s social history collection.

QUALIFICATIONS

Please note that this position is contingent on grant funding from the Young Canada Works Program. Candidates must register on the YCW website and meet the YCW eligibility requirements.

Summer Programmer (Summer 2018)

RESPONDS TO: Programs Associate

MAG summer Students

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Summer Programmer plans and facilitates art and craft projects and educational play activities for summer day camps and special event activities for children. The summer day camps are designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. They are highly interactive and they are designed to inspire children to have an interest in hart and the history of our community. They are designed to increase awareness of the First Nations and the many cultural groups who are part of Central Alberta’s community. The Summer Programmer will assist the Visitor Experience Team in planning and presenting the MAG’s annual ‘Welcome to Red Deer’ Heritage Day Event, which welcomes and celebrates all newcomers to Red Deer.

Key Responsibility Areas
