"Makeover" Near completion. Mall Gallery Closes October 28th
The MAG's temporary Gallery in Parkland Mall has been a great success - we have welcomed old friends and greeted new visitors.
We are grateful to Parkland Mall for all their support!
On Wednesday, October 28th the MAG’s temporary Gallery in Parkland Mall will close with two special events presented by artist, Jim Visser: a hands-on workshop with artsparks in the afternoon and an artist talk at 7 pm that evening.While the Gallery will be closed after October 28th, MAGnificent Saturdays will continue to be held in Parkland Mall until the end of November. (Saturday afternoon, 2-4 pm: free arts programming for families).
Now we’re gearing up for reopening in the transformed space, Family Day, February 15th, 2010!

artsparks nominated for Leadership Award
artsparks at the MAG was recently nominated for the PDD Provincial Community Leadership Awards (formerly known as the Norm McLeod Awards).
There are five award categories and artsparks at the MAG was nominated in the category of the Community Disability Service Sector Leadership Award that recognizes a community service provider or individual that has demonstrated innovative practices that improve services for adults with developmental disabilities. The winner was a similar organization from Calgary, Studio C, which offers visual art programming for artists with and without disabilities from their location in downtown Calgary.
artsparks is accessible and inclusive arts programming for everyone and has been servings clients in Red Deer since 2005.
The Awards Celebration was held on October 7, 2009 in Edmonton and was attended by Her Honourable Mary Anne Jablonski.
